Alton Natural Gas Storage Update
Posted on April 08, 2016
We’d like to provide you with an update on the Alton Natural Gas Storage Project. Based on feedback we have heard from some members of the community and the Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia, we have decided to pause major civil construction activities until this summer. The company will only undertake routine maintenance and minor upgrades of its facilities. This break in activity will allow for more discussions about the project.
We are committed to working in good faith to develop long-term relationships with the community and the Mi’kmaq of Nova Scotia. We will be more active in the community and will communicate more about the project through advertising, an upcoming contractor fair, and a new, more interactive website. Rob Turner, our Stakeholder Relations Manager, is available to discuss the project, answer questions and address concerns. Please contact him if you would like to arrange a meeting. In addition, our Community Liaison Committee has just been formed.
We encourage you to contact us if you would like more information or if you have questions about the Alton Natural Gas Storage Project.
